Parable of the Shrewd Manager - Luke 12:42
Jesus told his disciples a Parable about the 'Faithful' and 'Unfaithful Manager':-
Our use of money is a good test of the lordship of Christ
(1) Money belongs to God, not us - Use resources wisely (2) Money can be used for good or evil - Use it carefully (3) Money has lot of power - Use it thoughtfully for faith
We are to make wise opportunities, NOT to earn heaven, but 'eternal dwellings' will be a welcome experience for those we help - (Ch.16:9)Our earthly investments will bring eternal benefit to help others find Christ; and when we obey God's will, the unselfish use of possessions will follow. Our riches can easily take God's place in our life. Our integrity often meets its match in money matters. God calls us to be honest even in small details, and it will not fail us in crucial decisions either.
Money is a hard deceptive master. Wealth promises power and control, but often it cannot deliver. No amount of money can provide health, happiness, or eternal life. Is it hard for us to give money away ? Let God be our master - His servants have peace of mind and security, both now and forever.
Jesus promises a reward for those who have been faithful to the master. Also, He said that if we look for rewards now, we will lose them later (see Mark 8:16) Watchful and faithful leaders will be given increased opportunities and responsibilities. The more resources, talents, and understanding we have, the more we are responsible to use them effectively.
"OUR HEAVENLY REWARDS WILL BE THE MOST ACCURATE REFLECTION OF WHAT WE HAVE DONE ON EARTH"
May the LORD find us ready to greet Him joyfully.
