Behold the Lamp of God
C H R I ST M A S - 2017
Our Eucharist starts with the announcement by the Priest :-
"Mariam who brought Thee, Yuhanon who baptized Thee
These are our suppliants to Thee; Have mercy upon us, O LORD..."
Knowing Mary in this Advent is the key to understand her Son, Jesus - The 'Son of Man' from Nazareth whom many prophesied as the Messiah who would bring salvation to the entire world, not just for the Jews [Isaiah 49:6]
Saint Mary's mediation is often sought to eliminate anxiety, worries, etc. because she gone through these while bringing up her Divine Son, and ever drawing us closer so we will become just like Jesus Christ.
How can Saint Mary's life have impact upon us in a modern world....... ?
We honour her life with special feasts, celebrate significant events in her life, as a first evangelist and great disciple, then we will come closer to our own Mother !!

In the Jewish culture, elders were respected; their life experiences carried extra weight. In contrast, our society values youthfulness over wisdom, and potential contributions by the elderly are often ignored. As Christians, we should reverse those values wherever we can. Encourage older people to share their wisdom and experience.
Offer our parents help and friendship by listening carefully when they speak.
THIS IS HOW ONE WILL FIND GOD AND CONTINUE TO SERVE ONE ANOTHER...!!

How to be content and be happy.....??
How can we learn to be content ..... ??
There are three basic reasons for strife and unhappiness in a family -
Marriage should be honoured by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have.
We should say with confidence, we trust God to meet all our needs.
If we are true Christian, we owe much to others who taught us and modeled for us what we needed to know about the gospel and Christian Living -

Parable of the Shrewd Manager - Luke 12:42
Jesus told his disciples a Parable about the 'Faithful' and 'Unfaithful Manager':-
Our use of money is a good test of the lordship of Christ
(1) Money belongs to God, not us - Use resources wisely (2) Money can be used for good or evil - Use it carefully (3) Money has lot of power - Use it thoughtfully for faith
We are to make wise opportunities, NOT to earn heaven, but 'eternal dwellings' will be a welcome experience for those we help - (Ch.16:9)Our earthly investments will bring eternal benefit to help others find Christ; and when we obey God's will, the unselfish use of possessions will follow. Our riches can easily take God's place in our life. Our integrity often meets its match in money matters. God calls us to be honest even in small details, and it will not fail us in crucial decisions either.
Money is a hard deceptive master. Wealth promises power and control, but often it cannot deliver. No amount of money can provide health, happiness, or eternal life. Is it hard for us to give money away ? Let God be our master - His servants have peace of mind and security, both now and forever.
Jesus promises a reward for those who have been faithful to the master. Also, He said that if we look for rewards now, we will lose them later (see Mark 8:16) Watchful and faithful leaders will be given increased opportunities and responsibilities. The more resources, talents, and understanding we have, the more we are responsible to use them effectively.
"OUR HEAVENLY REWARDS WILL BE THE MOST ACCURATE REFLECTION OF WHAT WE HAVE DONE ON EARTH"
May the LORD find us ready to greet Him joyfully.

'CONTROLLING SPIRIT WITHIN OURSELVES' ..... [ref. St Lu.9:55]
'Loose lips sink ships' is an American English idiom to say: Beware of unguarded talk...
Each word when we utter have severe repercussions on our own life ! Because there is a spirit sitting inside each one of us making us judgemental and saying things to others........ In short, we want ONLY our way and shout or insult others... Even Jesus doubted the spirits instilled in his close disciples James and John, when they asked shall we command fire from heaven to consume a Samaritan village for not receiving them [like Elijah did,2Kg.1] Then, Jesus rebuked them and said:' You do not know what manner of spirit you are of '- Son of Man came not to destroy but to save them'.....
The disciples forgot the instructions: "Shake dust from their feet (9:5) but they wanted to retaliate by calling down fire from heaven; we must remember that judgement belong to God and we must not expect him to use his power to carry out personal vendettas.
St Pauls says, having 'Faith and a Good Conscience' [1Timothy 1:19-20]
By rejecting conscience, certain persons have suffered 'SHIPWRECK' in their faith; among them are ... whom I have turned over to Satan, so that they may learn not to blaspheme.
MAY THE WILL OF GOD'S BE DONE ON EARTH....... Amen !

My Father bequeathed the family home in a Registered Will
Our marriage was under the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church rites and registered - 16/05/1977
My father's share of his father's property was part of the family wealth division according to the inheritance law and for his heirs to benefit the family heritage.
This subsequent registering of his own will was to maintain this ethos of the Orthodox Christian tradition.The beneficiary has no right to deny another of the family of his birth right or the family share.The mere thought of throwing out the present occupier of the property and sell / donate to any thing other than the original wish of the initiator as my Grand Father's will clearly indicates, is a travesty of justice. Also, my sister is entitled for her share of the family home.
